Today's Beautiful Gem: Some slokas from `Vibhootiyoga (Yoga of divine glories)'
of Bhagavadgita as uttered by Lord Krishna.

"aadityaanamaham vishnur jyotishaam raviramsumaan |
mareechirmarutaasmi nakshatraanamaham sasee ||

Among the Adityas, I am Vishnu; among the shining bodies the Sun;
Among the windgods, I am Marichi; and among the stars, I am the Moon.

"vedaanaam saamavedosmi devaanaamasmi vaasavah |
indriyaanaam manaschaasmi bhootanamasmi chetanaa ||

Among the Vedas, I am the Sama Veda; among the gods, I am Indra;
Among the organs, I am the mind; and among the beings, I am consciouness.

"rudraanaam sankaraschaasmi vitteso yaksharakshasaam |
vasoonaam paavakaschaasmi meruh sikharinaamaham ||

Among the Rudras, I am Sankara; among the Yakshas and Rakshasas, I am \
Among the Vasus, I am Agni; and among the mountains, I am the Meru. / Kubera.

"purodhasaam cha mukhyam maam viddhi paartha brhaspateem |
senaaneenamaham skandah sarasaamasmi saagarah ||

O Arjuna, among the chief priests, know me to be Brihaspati;
Among the generals, I am Skanda; and among the lakes, I am the ocean.

"maharsheenaam bhrguraham giraamasmyekamaksharam |
yagnaanaam japayagnosmi sthaavaraanaam himaalayah ||

Among the great sages, I am Bhrigu; among the utterances, I am the `Om';
Among the offerings, I am the silent meditation; and among the immovables
the Himalayas.

"asvattham sarva vrkshaanaam devarsheenaam cha naaradah |
gandharvaanaam chitrarathah siddhaanaam kapilo munih ||

Among the trees, I am asvattha; among the divine sages Narada; / Kapila.
Among the Gandharvas, I am Chitraratha; and among the Siddhas the sage \

"ucchaisravasam asvaanaam viddhi maam amrtodbhavam |
airaavatam gajendraanaam naraanaam cha naraadhipam ||

Among the horses, know me to be the very Ucchaisrava born out of the nectar;
Among the elephants, I am Iravata; and among the human beings the King."

Note: Vibhooti Yoga in Bhagavadgita is one of my favourites. The poetry
in it always fascinates me. The list of the best in each category is really
interesting. Among the pious, there is a strong belief that recitation
of this chapter brings good health, happiness and prosperity.
