Today's Beautiful Gem: `Is Heart Neuter?' by
Dharmakirti, translated by P Lal.

jnAtvA ramate tacca tatraiva |
tAm
prati prahitaM manah: hatAh: pANininA vayaM" |
"Glory to Panini, who says that heart is
`neuter'.
Thinking that it would suit her, I sent my heart.
Mysterious conjugation, it suffered a declension!
I donot think that Panini explains such art!"
Note: Panini is a grammarian of antiquity. Who says that there is
no
humour in Sanskrit poetry?
