Today's Beautiful Gem: "Do not seek..." by an anonymous author.

         Ethical principles remain the same irrespective of religious hues
and cultural contrasts. No religion condones stealing or lying. No culture
permits murder or torture. Then why do we spend our time so much in hair-
plitting and inane arguments? I don't have a clue. But here is a West
African song bv an anonymous author. The advice offered here is similar
to the one given by any teacher or parent. Enjoy!

"Do not seek too much fame, but do not seek obscurity.
Be proud, but do not remind the world of your deeds.
Excel when you must, but do not excel the world.
Many heroes are not yet born,
Many have already died;
To be alive to hear this song is a victory."
