Kabhi to aasmaan say chaand utray, jaam ho jayey,
Tumharay naam ki ik khoobsoorat, shaam ho jayey !

[When will the moon come down to earth, we could say cheers,
And we would dedicate this great night to you !]

Ajab haalaat they yun dil ka sauda ho gaya aakhir,
Mohabaat ki hawali jis tarah neelaam ho jayey !

[Circumstances were weird and at last we traded our heart in a way,
Like somebody auctions the palace of love !]

Main khud bhi ahtiyatan us taraf say kum guzarta hoon,
Koi maasoom kyon meray liyey badnaam ho jayey !

[I myself as a precaution, very rarely visit that side of the town,
Just for me, why should someone innocent get a bad name !]

Mujhay maaloom hai uska thikana phir kahan hoga,
Parinda aasmaan choonay mein jab naakaam ho jayey !

[I know where one would stay,
After a bird is unsuccessful in reaching the sky !]

Ujaalay apni yaadon kay hamaray saath rehnay do,
Na jaanay kis gali mein zindagi ki shaam ho jayey !

[Please let the brightness of your memories stay with me,
Who knows when and where the life would end !]
