Subject: Sajda: Meri Tasveer Mein Rang ...
Hi folks
Thank you for your responses and appreciation
at the Sajda postings. These
are very beautiful ghazals, and some are very tough to
translate. Muzaffar
Warsi is one such poet, whose ghazals, I find tough to
translate. I have
tried my best. I would like others to give their opinions.
Poet : Muzaffar Warsi
1. meri tasveer mein rang aur kisi ka to
nahi
gher lein mujhko sab ankhen, mein tamasha to nahi
[There is nobody else's colours in my picture
All eyes come & surround me, I am not a created
sight/spectacle]
2. zindagi tujh se har ik sans pe samjhauta
karoon,
shouq jeene ka hai mujhko, magar itna to nahi
[Life, I have to reach an agreement with you
for every breath
I have the desire/wish/will to live , but it is not that much]
3. rooh ko dard mila, dard ko ankhen na
milin
tujhe mehsoos kiya hai, tujhe dekha to nahin
[The soul/spirit found/felt the pain, but the
pain could not find the eyes
I have felt you, but I have not seen you]
4. sochte sochte dil doobne lagta hai mera
zahen ki teh mein "Muzaffar" koi dariya to nahi
[By thinking so much, my heart begins to sink
In the depths of the mind, "muzaffar" is not a
river/sea]
Dictionary : mehsoos - feel; zahen - mind; teh - depth
