Subject: Ghazal!
Hi folks
I am back with a ghazal by Sudarshan Faakir, sung by Chitra Singh! Enjoy!
1. kissi ranjish ko hava do, ki meiN zinda
hooN abhi
mujhko ehsaas dila do, ki meiN zinda hooN abhi
[Stoke up some distrust/misunderstanding/ill
feeling, for I am still alive
Give me this feeling/make me feel that I am still alive]
2. mere rukne se meri saanseN bhi ruk
jaayengi
faasle aur bada do, ki meiN zinda hooN abhi
[If I stop, then my breathing will also stop
Increase the distances for I am still alive]
[Here, 'stoping' is with reference to achieving
one's goals. If one achieve's his/her goal, then
there is nothing else left, and is enough to symbolise the end of
one's life]
3. zeher peene ki tho aadat thi zamaane
waaloN
ab koi aur dava do, ki meiN zinda hooN abhi
[I was used to drinking poison, o people of the
world
Now, give me some other medicine, for I am still alive]
[The poison here is with reference to the hardships/failures/dejections faced]
4. chalthi raahoN meiN yooNhi aankh lagi
haiN 'faakir'
bheed logoN ki hata do, ki meiN zinda hooN abhi
[Along the way(of life), I have just fallen
asleep, 'faakir'
Move the crowds away, for I am still alive]
regards
Ramesh
