Here is a ghazal by Faiz Ahmad Faiz (takkallus
- faiz), for
you ghazalers. Enjoy!
1. dono jahaN teri muhobat meiN haar ke
wo ja raha haiN koi shab-e-gham guzaar ke
[After losing both the worlds in the name of
love
There goes someone, after passing the sorrowful night]
2. veeraan haiN maikadah KHum-o-saagar
udhaas haiN
tum kya gaye ke rooth gaye din bahaar ke
[The bars are barren, the barrels and goblets
are sad
With your going away, the days of spring have got angry]
3. duniya ne teri yaad se baigaana kar diya
tujh se bhi dil-faraib haiN gham-rozgaar ke
[The world has isolated/seperated me from your
memory
The sorrows of work are much more deceiving to the heart than
you]
4. bhoole se muskuraa to diye the woh aaj
'faiz'
mat pooNch val-vale dil-e-kirdah_kaar ke
[She forgot and smiled at me today 'faiz'
Don't even ask the enthusiasm of my empty & unused heart]
